Most of us are guilty for all different reasons of not eating and maintaining a regular healthy balanced diet. This may include consuming insufficient fresh fruit and vegetables. Too many of us are eating processed food (ready made meals) with high levels of animal fats and additives used to prolong shelve life dates. Processed food does not provide us with the EFAs we require to maintain a healthy balanced diet.
Even if the diet is a healthy one, smoking and drinking, illness and old age can also have an adverse effect on the intake of the essential fatty acid (EFAs) nutrients required for well being.
